The Management Team
JIM ARSENEAULT, President and CEO
Jim Arseneault is a co-founder of DragonWave Inc. and is the President and CEO.
Mr. Arseneault has been active in the telecommunications and networking industries for
over 20 years. Most recently, he was with Alcatel Networks (formerly Newbridge) where he
was Executive Vice President of Alcatel's Internetworking Products Group. He has also held
roles as head of product management, solutions marketing and Vice President and General
Manager of the Mainstreet Business unit.
Prior to joining Alcatel, Mr. Arseneault was Director of Program Management at Mitel
Corporation, a leading provider of advanced PBX systems.
He currently sits on the Board of Directors at Abatis Systems Corp. as Vice Chairman.
BRUCE RODGERS, Vice President
Operations
Bruce Rodgers is a co-founder of DragonWave Inc. and is the Vice President of Operations
responsible for product manufacturing.
Mr. Rodgers has over 27 years of operations and
senior management experience in the telecommunications and networking industries. Most
recently, he was with Alcatel Networks (formerly Newbridge), where he was Executive Vice
President of Operations.
Prior to joining Alcatel in 1986 Mr. Rodgers
held a variety of management positions at Rockwell International's, Telephone Products
Division in Canada where most recently he was responsible for Manufacturing Operations.
DAVE FARRAR, Vice President Product
Management, and Business Development
Dave Farrar is a co-founder of DragonWave Inc. and is the Vice President of Product
Management, and Business Development responsible for product and market definition.
Mr. Farrar has over 24 years of design and
senior management experience in the telecommunications and networking industries. Most
recently, he was with Alcatel Networks (formerly Newbridge), where he held senior
management positions in Product Management, Research and Development, Operations, and
Information Technology.
Prior to joining Alcatel, Mr. Farrar was
Director of Engineering at Synapse Corporation a startup focused on data communications
design and an Engineering Manager at Mitel Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in
Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
SHING K. LEE, Vice President,
Research and Development
Shing Lee, a member of the founding team, is the Vice President of Research and
Development responsible for developing the engineering organization and for overseeing the
company's product development.
Shing brings over 25 years of telecommunication
product design and management experience. Most recently, he was with Nortel's Optera
Solutions group (formerly Cambrian Systems Corp.) where he managed the development of a
DWDM Optical Networking product for metro applications.
Before joining Cambrian, Shing held senior
management positions in R&D and Operations at Alcatel Networks (formerly Newbridge).
Prior to Alcatel, he was with Mitel Corporation and Bell Northern Research.
He holds a B.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering
and a Masters degree in Systems Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer of
Ontario, and is currently on the Advisory Panel of Zenastra Photonics Inc.
TOM A. DUXBURY, Director of Product
Management
Tom Duxbury, a member of the founding team, and is responsible for definition of the
Company's product program.
Mr. Duxbury is a veteran of the Internetworking
and Telecommunications industry, with over 25 years' experience in design, architecture,
applications and management roles. As Director of Engineering for Alcatel Networks
(formerly Newbridge), Mr. Duxbury most recently founded the Broadband Copper Access group,
an ADSL business unit achieving over $200M in revenues.
Prior to joining Alcatel, Mr. Duxbury was a
design manager with Mitel Corp, responsible for execution of their digital networking, LAN
and PBX products.
Tom Duxbury, P.Eng. holds 3 patents in the
fields of optical, ATM and Frame Relay networks and is a graduate Electrical Engineer from
the University of Waterloo.
ERIK BOCH, Chief Technical Officer
Erik Boch is a co-founder of DragonWave Inc. and holds a Masters degree in Electrical
Engineering from Carleton University in Ottawa. He has been involved in various aspects of
microwave & millimetre wave subsystem and system design for more than 15 years and has
published extensively in this area.
Mr. Boch has held senior engineering or
technical management positions at a number of communications and aerospace companies
namely Litton Systems, ComDev, Lockheed Martin and Alcatel Networks (formerly Newbridge).
While at Alcatel, Mr. Boch was AVP of the Wireless Systems Group and is currently the
Chief Technical Officer at DragonWave.
TONY ROMANO, Senior RF Engineer,
Research and Development
Antonio Romano is a Senior RF Engineer responsible for the research and development of
microwave and millimeter wave radios. He is a member of the founding team of DragonWave
Inc.
Tony brings over 13 years experience in the
microwave and millimeter wave field. Most recently, he was with COM DEV International as a
Principal Member of Technical Staff in the Corporate R&D group. His most recent
research activities at COM DEV, was focused in the application of High Temperature
Superconductors (HTS) and Cryogenic Electronics to space based microwave receivers.
He holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in
Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
DAN HINDSON, Senior RF Engineer,
Research and Development
Dan Hindson is a Senior RF Engineer responsible for technology development for microwave
and millimeter wave radios. He is a member of the founding team of DragonWave Inc.
Dan has over 18 years of experience in the area
of microwave and millimeter wave radios. Most recently, he was with Communications
Research Centre Satellite Communications Research Branch where he performed work on
satellite system analysis and development, and acted as a scientific authority. Previous
to that, Dan was with ComDev EHF group where he designed a variety of microwave and
mm-wave components. Dan is the author of a number of published technical papers.
Dan holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical
Engineering from Carleton.
GERRY WIGHT, Director of Product
Management
Gerry Wight is the Director of Product Management for DragonWave Inc. Prior to joining
DragonWave, Gerry was the Business Development Manager with Cadence Design Systems.
Previous work experience includes Marketing Manager for SR Telecom's Wireless Loop
product. During the 5 years he was with SR Telecom he was responsible for the Wireless
Loop product family from initial concept through product launch. Prior to joining SR
Telecom Mr. Wight worked for Mitel in a variety of positions including Sales, Marketing
and Product Management.
Mr. Wight has given papers at numerous telecommunications conferences around the world
including: Hong Kong, Beijing, Vancouver, Montreal, Miami, Beirut and Manila. In addition
he has had articles published in numerous telecommunications magazines.
RON BLAIR, Chief Financial Officer
Ron, formerly the Chief Financial Officer of Cambrian Systems Inc and AIT Advanced
Information Technologies Inc, has spent the last 18 months with Nortel Networks as Vice
President, Business Development, Optical Networks.
Ron brings 15 years of business and financial experience with several Ottawa High Tech
companies. During his time at Cambrian (an Optical Network start-up) he helped guide the
company through the start-up period and negotiated the sale of the company to Nortel
Networks.
PAULINA YEE, C.A., Director of
Finance and Administration
Paulina Yee is the Director of Finance and Administration responsible for the financial
management and overall administration of the company. She is a member of the founding team
of DragonWave Inc.
Ms. Yee brings over 11 years of finance and
accounting experience to DragonWave. Most recently, she was with Alcatel Networks
(formerly Newbridge), where she held several senior financial management positions
including Director of Business Management for the Switching Product Group and Controller
for the Research and Development group.
She is a Chartered Accountant and holds a
Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo.
